AIG ADENIRAN TASKED OFFICERS IN ZONE 3 ON DISCIPLINE, PROFESSIONALISM AND RESPECT FOR HUMAN RIGHTS.
The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone Three Headquarters, Yola, Akinwale Kunle Adeniran, has charged officers and men under the zone to uphold discipline, professionalism, respect for human rights, and the rule of law in the discharge of their duties.
The AIG gave the charge during a lecture session for officers and personnel of the command, where he stressed the importance of punctuality, dedication to duty, effective supervision, and physical fitness as key requirements for effective policing and public confidence in the Nigeria Police Force.
He warned that lateness, negligence, and absenteeism weaken operational effectiveness and directed supervisory officers to intensify monitoring and mentoring of subordinate personnel to ensure compliance with operational guidelines and ethical standards.
On human rights, the AIG cautioned officers against unlawful detention, harassment, intimidation, extortion, and other forms of abuse, noting that any officer found engaging in unprofessional conduct would face disciplinary action.
He also advised personnel to maintain physical and mental fitness through regular exercise to improve operational readiness in tackling security challenges.
Speaking on the use of social media, the AIG warned officers against posting classified information, operational activities, or content capable of tarnishing the image of the Nigeria Police Force, urging them to remain disciplined and responsible in their online engagements.
According to him, the directives align with the vision of the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, aimed at strengthening professionalism, accountability, and public trust in the Force.
The AIG further reassured residents of Adamawa and Taraba states of the Zone’s commitment to effective policing, protection of lives and property, and the promotion of peace and security.
